Theresa Morris transitioned from a twenty-year career in critical care nursing at an academic medical center to Patient Safety in 2006. She is currently the Senior Quality Assurance Coordinator for the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. She received her master’s degree in Patient Safety Leadership from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 2011 and is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety through the Institute of Healthcare Improvement. She was the co-founder of the first Peer Support program at Massachusetts General Hospital and is on the Advisory Committee for the new institutional Peer Support program at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her areas of expertise are Peer Support, Apology and Disclosure and Patient Safety curriculums. She has co-authored several articles on Peer Support, Anaphylaxis in the OR and automated QA reporting tools for electronic medical record systems. She is also co-author of a book chapter on Clinician Peer Support.
