Tamara has been a registered nurse for 27 plus years and 26 of those years have been with RCHSD. 16.5 years spent on the Rady Children’s Hospital Emergency Transport team, created a passion for well-being with particular interest in mitigating the effects on the human health care provider from compassion fatigue, burnout, moral distress, and the repeated exposure to primary and secondary trauma. Tamara’s current role is a RN educator as the PALS, PEARS, Code Blue, and CPR for the Soul coordinator and instrumental in co-creating U MATTER, a peer-to-peer support program for nurses and respiratory therapists. Tamara is an advocate for promoting professional, emotional well-being, self-care, and resiliency.
