Melissa Barnes, MSN, RN, BMTCN, OCN is Nurse Manager of the inpatient Hematology/Oncology floor and high acuity program at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Her 30 be unit primarily serves patients undergoing treatment for hematologic malignancies with chemotherapy, clinical trials, and other supportive care. Melissa is dual certified in Oncology Nursing and Blood and Marrow Transplant Nursing. Currently Melissa is pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Leadership from Gardner-Webb University. She was awarded as a Great 100 Nurse of North Carolina in 2019. Melissa is also a Member of the Board of Directors for the Greater Charlotte Area Oncology Nursing Society and a member of the North Carolina Nurses Association and American Nurses Association.
