Dr. Maureen Mayhew has practiced medicine and public health for more than 30 years in several Canadian provinces and in low income countries. She trained in family medicine at McGill, in public health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and in research methods at the University of British Columbia (UBC). She is a program physician in BC’s Physician Health Program, a clinical professor at UBC and a certified Life & Leadership coach. She uses reflective writing and narrative medicine in her own life and in workshops. Her goal is to promote healing, self-compassion and wellbeing. She is nearing completion of a memoir on her own growth over a ten year period in Afghanistan.
