Marian Teehan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 35 years’ experience in hospital social work, administration and consulting. Managing the Thomas Glasser caregivers center at Overlook Medical center since its founding 10 years ago fulfilled a long-held dream of providing support to family caregivers. Marian’s passion and concern for family caregivers grew out of her early life experience of losing a parent at a young age, when support services and understanding about grief were not as well developed. Marian is committed to lifelong learning and has obtained advanced training in Death and Grief studies from The Center for Loss and holds a Post graduate certificate in End of Life Care from Smith College School for Social Work. Recently Marian was awarded National Board Certification in Advanced Palliative and Hospice Social Work. Recognizing the importance of self-care, Marian integrates her Mindfulness and Tai Chi/Qigong practices and brings this expertise to her work in the center.
