Maria Kokas, PhD

Maria S. Kokas, PhD has centered her career on developing people and organizations. She specializes in making complex concepts come alive through practical application. She has worked in public health and institutional healthcare, educational settings, private industry, and academic research with the National Institutes of Health. Her core belief is that: What we need is within each of us. Our job is to tap into those resources to enrich our personal and professional lives.
As director of learning systems and resources, Kokas supports 50 accredited HFHS residency and fellowship programs. She works with faculty, administrators, fellows and residents to help build comprehensive learning systems. Her focus is to strengthen core competencies and help program participants integrate that information into their professional practices.
Kokas earned her PhD in Education from Wayne State University, Physician Coaching Certification from The Physician Coaching Institute and Emotional Intelligence Leadership Certification through Case Western University’s Weatherhead School of Management.
