Lucy Willis, MD
Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine
Co-Director of Faculty Wellness Committee, Weill Cornell Medicine
Lucy Willis, MD, completed her Emergency Medicine residency in 2009 at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center (now Mt. Sinai West) and has since been practicing emergency medicine full time. She is Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell and Lower Manhattan Hospitals and Co-Founder and Co-Director of their Faculty Wellness Committee since 2016. As a physician, she felt the stressors of clinical medicine firsthand, which led her and her colleagues to develop this innovative committee. It aims to address physician wellbeing on an organizational level. Peer support is especially important to her, and she developed and moderates a faculty peer support group called “Doc Box” and has recently been working on a case-based peer support program of trained faculty peers who support each other through challenging cases and malpractice litigation. She has been published in Physician Leadership Journal, ACEP online, and NEJM Catalyst. She has two young sons and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.
