Karim Awad, MD, MBA

Medical Director of Clinician Wellness, Chair of Clinical Advisory Council, and Chief of Sleep Medicine, Atrius Health

Karim Awad, MD, MBA is the Medical Director of Clinician Wellness in the Department of Clinical Affairs and the Chief of Sleep Medicine. He joined Atrius Health in 2012 after completing a Neurology Residency at Harvard Medical School, MGH/BWH, and a Sleep Medicine Fellowship at Harvard Medical School, BWH. He completed his MBA in 2019 through the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Dr. Awad is on two statewide workgroups to help tackle the problem of clinician burnout, one with CRICO (an insurance provider for Harvard Institutions) and one with Mass Medical Society-Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association. Dr. Awad has been featured in The Boston Globe and local Boston News on the topic of physician burnout. Finally, Dr. Awad was elected the Chair of the Clinical Advisory Council, which meets with senior leadership including the CEO and CMO, and is a member of the Board of Trustees.
