Donna Bonacorso is the Chief Nurse Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services at Community Medical Center a member of the RWJBarnabas Health system. In her role, she is a Member of the Senior Leadership Team and oversees all functions of the Nursing Division.
Before joining Community Medical Center, Ms. Bonacorso worked primarily at Montefiore Medical Center with multiple years in Critical Care, Emergency, Psychiatry and Education.
During Ms. Bonacorso’s tenure for the past 17 years at Community Medical Center, she has been the Director of Patient Care for the ICUs, transitioned to the Emergency Department to lead the team during construction implementation, grew Cardiovascular and Neurological Services and has held multiple Nurse Executive positions to drive high quality patient care. The launch of the Nurse Residency Program in August 2018 has brought exceptional graduate nurses to her professional nursing team.
Ms. Bonacorso received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Lehman College in 1982 in New York followed by a Master of Science (Nursing) from Pace University in New York in 1989. She has had numerous certifications including CCRN, CEN, and CNS in Psychiatry, and has been recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Board Certified Nurse Executive, Advanced in 2007 and 2012. Ms. Bonacorso is active with the New Jersey Chapter of Organization of Nurse Leaders, and is active on their Mentorship Committee and the Nursing Workplace Environment & Staffing Commission.
