Cynthia LaRocca DNP, RN, NPD-BC is the Director of Clinical Professional Development at Plainview and Syosset Hospitals. She graduated from nursing school in 1998 and continued her education ultimately receiving her Doctoral Degree in Nursing Practice with an emphasis in Nursing Education from Samford University in 2018. She attained her certification in Professional Development in 2019. Her nursing experiences include the medical surgical, acute rehabilitation, spinal cord, brain injury, renal, and cardiac specialty areas. She has worked in education since 2009 with experience in both clinical and formal nursing education settings. She started the Team Lavender journey at Plainview and Syosset in 2019, with her Patient Experience partner, in hopes of providing support for staff members at both institutions and improving the overall well-being of her colleagues.
