Curtis Mock, MD, MBA

Curtis Mock has over 25 years of experience as a physician leader in healthcare. Certified in Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine, Dr. Mock practiced in a rural health underserved area in Iowa for 14 years following residency at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Biology and completed medical school at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He earned his Physician Executive MBA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group in 2002, he practiced medicine and was Vice President for Primary Care at a non-profit hospital in Providence, RI, and as clinical faculty for the Brown University Family Medicine Residency program.

He joined OptumHealth in 2013, after working in Medicare & Retirement at UnitedHealthcare as the National Medical Director for Clinical Affordability and Quality. From 2013-2014 he served as the clinical leader for the in-home treatment program called Optum CarePlus in Complex Care Management, which cares for the most complex members in the population. He was then asked to lead Optum Clinic & Urgent Care, as Executive Officer, until January, 2017. Concurrently, he was the Dovetail Health executive business leader and Chief Medical Officer until 2018.
He now serves as physician leader in OptumCare for physician recruitment and well-being. Dr. Mock is a UnitedHealth Group Culture Facilitator, a coach for leaders becoming new facilitators and a member of the Optum Culture, Diversity and Inclusion Council. Dr. Mock presents at national and regional venues on topics including clinician well-being, organizational culture, health care delivery and strategy; care of the vulnerable elderly, integrated care delivery models and population health. He resides in Massachusetts.
