Dr. Jaime Baker is the Director for the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Colorado Springs Longitudinal Integrated Curriculum (LIC) with focus in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety. She has a passion for teaching medical students in all aspects from reviewing core clinical conditions, demonstrating physical exam findings to introducing topics of empathy and compassion. She believes it’s essential to start these conversations early in a physician’s training to bring awareness to the challenges a career in healthcare brings and to assist students in developing practices of wellness, story-telling and peer support to prevent compassion fatigue as they continue through training and into their careers.
